Am building a shower and require the height of the taps and the shower head

We usually put the center of the valves at about 48" from the floor level. That's not set in stone. Mark the valve there, and see if that feels about right to you. On the shower head, I usually go to something around 6' 5'' or in that neighboorhood. It really depends on the customer. That sounds high, but with the three inch drop from shower arm to shower head, it's about right for a 6'0'' individual.

If someone that's going to use the shower is taller than 6'0'', consider going higher. Remember it's always better to reach up and adjust the shower than to have to bend forward to wash your hair.
