Like mentioned above I've not been sexually active for almost a year, and one night finally had sex (protected) and the following morning (excuse my language) my vagina wasn't sore, swollen or anything. But on the second day when I went to use the restroom; I had an extreme discomfort when peeing, very small amounts of blood were apparent also and the sudden urgency to use the restroom every couple hours. Now I've never had a UTI before, but with the symptoms were all pointing towards it. And it's been almost a week since the first day of discomfort and I'm not sure what to do; somedays I can go to the bathroom without any problems but others I almost cry from the pain. I've been drinking fluids like a fish trying to "flush out" the bacteria, and its helping a little bit, but no fully getting rid of it. Any suggestions, comments, anything would be must appreciated. Thanks! -S

Oh, sarah, yes you have been gone too long from the sexual activity. I think mainly because you were too dry for penetration. Should have had some ky jelly on hand to ease the entrance.

Sounds like you, and partner from may have been too rough sex (could be his fingernails were dirty administering foreplay) and you being too dry, have abraided your vaginal wall and caused some slight bleeding. You can tell when it is fresh looking.

Do not douche. Your natural Ph in your nether regions has been interrupted and it could have developed into a urinary tract infection, but best to go to your doctor and get checked out and if it is a UTI you need antibiotics to get it straightened out.

Hi... you have a urine infection which you need antibiotics for,go to your Doctor, take a sample of urine which he will test, this I'm sure will show infection, you have all the symptoms, which I know can be extremely painful. If it has been a week then antibiotics I think are needed, which will relieve this almost immediately, don't leave it any longer, go see your doctor straight away.
