Is scheduled to be release 8/2012 has a probation violation for leaving the State of Calfornia without permission approx 6-7 yrs ago. California wants to extradict him back. What might be the result regarding jail time being served or monies?

They want to bring him back to California? Then it means they want him badly, and it will be serious, since they would not come get someone from that far away unless they had were very serious.

So you can expect more jail time, I doubt the max but he should have an attorney, it will be up to the judge who can decide almost anything

They can make him do his entire sentence in California, and I have no idea what that is. They want him back because he violated their supervision and they want their pound of flesh.
