I know this sounds weird but I'm an aspiring writer and I created a blog with all my creative writing on it and I want someone other than my friends and family to critique seeing as that's sort of a biased source of criticism. The link is: http://girlandhernotebook.blogspot.com/ Hope you like it and thanks a ton to anyone who checks it out. Your feedback is really helpful. :D

Welcome crazylemurs, more than likely someone with writing expertise will comment, but I was impressed. You mentioned school, how old are you?

I read it before you mentioned your age and thought it had been written by someone much older. Not only do you have a good command of English, you express yourself very well. Your story is interesting and something I would like to continue reading.
Only one correction: You had written, "This is the first 3 chapters of a soon to be book." I would write that this way: "These are the first three chapters of a soon-to-be book."
In the school silence story, you start in present tense, then switch gears to past. Use past for the entire story.

No, not for aspiring writers. It's just another blog on which to promote a self-published book.
I realize POD publishing is what many people are using today, since traditional publishing has become much more picky about what gets published. But POD is expensive and royalties are uncertain. CreateSpace is just another venue/blog for POD authors to use to market their titles. No one seems to realize that the product has to be worth reading in the first place, and many aren't simply because of lack of or poor/insufficient editing.

parttime finds this helpful : thanks, I'm no writer but been going there for years to read new stuff.
The blog is for writers who have self-published their book. It is not any kind of encouragement for anyone except to let "aspiring writers" know they can spend gobs of money to self-publish and then promote their book on this blog.
