I have whirlpool refrigerator and it is acquiring ice at the top of the refrigerator and then melting and dripping down to the bottm of the copartment below crispers. Which we have to soak up once a week. Just recently it is now forming ice crystals inside of freezer which I think is because of the other problem. What is causing this?

Check and see if the coils are clean, first. It sounds like the compressor is having to run too long to cool the refrigerator. After cleaning it see how well it is defrosting and post back here. DrTom4444
