Currently I am on deferred adjudication probation from a case in 2007 for forgery. A ex of mine brought me a check with a signature and amount on it. Just no name for who it was to. He said he did some work for a friend and he had no ID to cash it. I said I would do it for him being young dumb and in love. We went to the bank and I decided not to go through with it. Something felt funny. So I asked the teller for my id back an the check. I tore the check up and drove off. Found out he got the check from a girl he was two timing me with. She wrote him the check then got mad and found out about me and called it in stolen. I didn't even go through with anything and still caught a case. I want to know what should I do about getting my nursing license with this issue. I mean I have never been in trouble before or after this. I want to be a nurse so bad. Since I was three. I have my medical assistant diploma. Just trying now to live my dream. I'm desperate. Need guidances situation. I'm at s dead

I'm confused. What was the supposed crime? Did he forge her signature on the check? And you didn't know this, right?
But, in any event, you pleaded guilty (or no contest)?
If asked whether you have ever been convicted of a crime, you could truthfully answer "no", depending on whether you successfully complete the probation. But depending on how thorough an employment screening is, this may possibly come out. In such case you would have to be able to explain why you accepted deferred adjudication probation for a crime you didn't commit.
I personally find the story that "he had no ID to cash it" sort of hard to swallow. Perhaps you did too, and therefore suspected that something was not quite right.

No it was her signature at the bottom and on the amount. I put my name in the address to section of the check. The crime was me putting my name on it. Should I quit school or what should I do. The school knows of this . Just want to know about getting my license when I finish or will it all be a waste of time and money.

No. Don't quit school for this. As I said, if you finish your pobation successfully, this won't be officially on your record.
