92 camry will not start when key is turned. Everything else works fine. I bypassed ignition wire to starter, and connected lead on starter direct to battery lead, and it started like it should. Does this mean my ignition switch is bad? Anyone got another possible diagnosis? Ohh sorry I forgot to mention my camry is an automatic, and after I bypassed that little wire to the big wire on the starter the car runs great until I turn it off. Then will only start by repeating procedure. Any response is greatly appreciated, thank you for your time

The problem is with the ignition switch, neutral start switch, or wiring. Check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting. Odds are high that the problem is with the ignition switch.
