We have a house built in the 50's in the midwest. It is on a crawl that is very hard to maneuver in. We have had water under there for the better part of a year now and have not been abel to locate the problem. I recently noticed when the washtub empties I see water movement, ever so slight, into the puddle (3'X2'). I can't tell if it is coming from under the ground or not. In fact I don't know where it's coming from. I can't get all the way over to where the leak is because of the puddle and low proximity of the crawl. I have called a plumber friend who might know someone that wants to do side work. But my experience in the past tells me no one will call. Any suggestions on what to do. Should I try to open the floor? Or should I keep trying for the plumber?
