Twelve years ago I was assaulted and had my head slammed in the car door when I went to assist the woman he was assaulting. I suffered the head injury, but now suffer from Epilepsy and very bad Depression, and it doesn't take a lot to have me in tears. I have lost the will to go out, and of course this does not help the depression, so I tend to spend a lot of time at home on my own. The family concerned about my health persuaded me to be back near them so that I could have support during a seizure, but I just think that I am a burden on everyone. I have no friends around here, and having been robbed previously during a seizure I am frightened to go out in case this happens again. I try to get out by doing voluntary work as the Health & Safety Regulations make it difficult to get a salaried job, so living on the breadline makes things even more difficult. I was awarded £100 for the injuries I suffered. The culprit paid £25 and then went to prison for a fortnight. So for the help that I provided I had £25 and twelve years of very bad depression. Where is the justice in this world?
