I have an existing Hampton Bay ceiling fan, don't know the model, and am trying to remove the canopy so I can put up a new fan, but can't seem to find the screws to unscrew so I can remove it. It seems like there are inserts for 3 screws but when I put a screw driver up in there, I can't feel the screws. There are no screws on the outside. I've already taken off the decorative cover of the canopy.

Depending on the model the screws can be hidden by a plastic ring which looks just like the canopy. Put both hands on the final 1/4" of the canopy just where it touches the ceiling, give a quick counterclockwise twist to see if you have one of these collar rings. Do you know what model you have?

Yeah, but I found the instructions to it so I'm all set. Thank you anyway.
