Robots controlled by humans that fought

There is actually a whole genre of animation that follows that description. It's called Mecha. You'll have to be a lot more specific. Gundam is of course the first one that comes to my mind, but which Gundam series is another question entirely.

One I can think of is Medabots and Gundam Wing.
