My Fiancé was counseled by an attorney that he is better off ignoring the collections agencies that are hounding him for the substantial Medical Debt (he incurred in his early twenties) for a period of 7 years. If he was to make a payment it would restart a seven year statute of limitations. Does this sound like legitimate advice?
If so is there a risk to me as I marry into the situation as a homeowner with good credit? I plan to keep the house in my name and maintain my own finances. Any advice is truly appreciated!
