I got my husky from a breeder when he was 13 weeks old. We brought him home and we have had him for about 4 weeks and he is still co calm. He refuses to come out of his cage unless he is eating or going out to the bathroom. I have been trying to figure out why he acts the way he does and cannot figure it out.
Any Ideas?

When he eats or goes outside take up his crate. Play with him and give treats and affection when he does what you want/ask. He is old enough to start training but be patient. He also needs a good amount of exercise like walking for an hour and also socialize with other people and dogs so consider a dog park

We tride to just lock his crate when he went outside and he eventually caught on and started to refuse to go outside

If he is smart enough to do that the he is smart enough to train you, that's what he is doing, training you. You need to get the upper hand and this young guy. I'd sign up for training classes which will help put you back in the "alpha" seat
