You should if you are sexually active, if the discharge is yellow or discolored, if you have any itching or burning, or if there is a strong odor to it.

Discharge will change throughout your cycle, both in appearance and amount. These are normal changes, but when you notice something out of the ordinary for you, best to have it checked.
