In the State of Ca. can you write off any health Insurance premium?
1. retired 2. receive a pension 3. work part time around $8.00 per hr.
The only way you can get insurance is through retirement union insurance plan do to high blood pressure.
Monthly rates are almost 800.00 per month for one person. Is there any way to help with these Hi Premium Cost?
Thanks

Write off where? Health insurance is a deduction on your tax return if you meet the other criteria.

Do you receive Medicare?

For CA you deduct medical expenses to the same extent as you did on your federal return. In other words: medical expenses above 7.5% of your AGI are deducted on your federal 1040 Schedule A, and that same amount caries over to form CA(540) for your CA tax calculation.
