Great idea CBW - Here's my contribution:

Spinach Casserole

1 frozen spinach package
2 cups of cooked minute rice
Velvetta Cheese
Butter
Bread crumbs *seasoned preferred
Salt
Pepper

******************************************

Okay you ready? Just make the spinach as it tells you on the frozen package. Drain the spinach. Put spinach in a casserole dish and add just a little butter, some bread crumbs, salt & Pepper.

Slice up some of the velvetta cheese and mix with the spinach and then add the rice.

Mix all of the above together. Then, slice some more of the Velvetta cheese and lay it on the top of the spinach mixture. Put the lid on the casserole dish and place in a 350 deg oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until cheese on top is melted and casserole is nice and warm.

Pretty simple huh? But sooo good.

Enjoy!!

Thank goodness it's almost lunch time!

Just want to point out that "recipes" aren't always raw ingredients! Adding tuna and garlic and a can of peas to mac'n'cheese is a recipe too! I'd love to have new ways to serve old classics like that, since that's sometimes all I have the energy/time to prepare.

My Mother's Lasagna:

1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage, if you like it spicier), browned
2 - 8oz cans Hunt's Special Sauce (or tomato sauce if you can't find it. I use oregano and garlic flavor, personally)

Mix these two ingredients together, set aside.

1 (8 0z? Standard size) pkg cream cheese
1 16 oz package sour cream

Mix together until smooth. Set aside.

You will also need 1 lb mozzerella cheese, grated, and cooked lasagna noodles (about 8).

In an ungreased 9x13 cake pan, layer in the following order:

lasagna noodles
hamburger mix
cream cheese mix
cheese.

You should be able to get 2 layers of each into the pan. Warning! Be skimpy on the meat mixture on your first layer, or you won't get a second layer!

Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown. Serves 8 easily, usually more.

How about coca cola Ham...

Buy your ham joint and place in a Large pot and I mean Large you need to cover the ham with full fat coke don't try diet it doesn't work place a peeled onion in and bring to the boil once the liquid is boiling turn down to a gentle simmer and leave to cook depending on the size of the ham is the cooking time but I'm pretty sure you know how to boil a ham right your just doing it in cola instead of water or stock.

So your hams cooked take it out of the pot by now the cola should have evaporated quite nicely bring it back to the boil and let it boil out till its thick and goey this take a while but for heavens sake don't walk away if it totally caramelises your buggered your pan when the cola is all goey and thick poor over the ham and serve.

One thing I will say is DON'T use non stick pan lol it will go to pan heaven if you do.

Here's one of my favorites... it's fast, easy, and quite tasty. Sorry for the lack of conversion for those who need them...

Pollo Picata (Chicken Picata)

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 large lemons
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 8oz jar of artichoke hearts
8-10 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup white wine (I prefer a dry one with this recipe)
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup capers
3-4" deep skillet with cover

Cooking:

Pound chicken breasts flat to about 1/4" thick with a meat mallet or wood mallet, I like to put them in celophane (sp?) and pound them flat starting from the middle of the breast working out to the edges to avoid splitting. Brown the breasts in a skillet using 2 tablespoons of olive oil on medium high heat, about 3 minutes each side, remove breasts and set aside. Reduce heat to medium and put remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in skillet, adding onion and garlic, stir and cook until onions are translucent. Squeeze in juice from one lemon and add artichoke hearts and stir until it returns to a sizzle. Add wine, water, and squeeze in the juice from the other lemon, bring to a low boil. Add chicken to the skillet and cover with capers. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and let simmer for 6-7 minutes. Remove chicken and serve by spooning the sauce over the chicken. Excellent with steamed spinach and linguine as side dishes.

I love this idea! Here is my contribution:

Spaghetti Corn

1 cup broken raw spaghetti noodles
1/4 cup milk
1 - 15 oz can cream corn
1 - 15 oz can whole kernel corn (with juice) (can also use mexican corn)
1 cup Velvetta Cheese - cubed
1 small can french fried onion rings

Spray a 2 quart baking dish - does not matter if it is round or square. Layer ingredients in the given order, topping with the french fried onion rings.

Bake 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Ok here's one for Backened Pork Chops on a BBQ grill... no name, I sort of just made it up, but it's really good.

I take 4 boneless pork loin chops (cut thick about 1 1/2" thick) and place them in a one gallon ziplockbag, arranging them so the meat is lined on the bottom of the bag and heavily coat both sides with garlic powder. I do it in the bag, rather than coating them then placing them in the bag, so I retain the powder that doesn't coat to the meat. Let it sit for about one hour, turning once so the meats natural juices will allow the garlic powder to adhere evenly. Then I do the same thing with Cayenne pepper, heavily coating each side, letting sit for an an hour, turning once. Then I add low salt soy sauce until it's about 1/3 of the way up the meat when the bag is upright (it's about half a cup). I squeez all the air out of the ziplock and seal it. Let it sit for a couple of hours, turning it a few times and kneading the bag to evenly coat the meat... it'll form kind of a paste with a little excess sauce. I light my grill and leave it on high heat, letting it preheat for about ten minutes. Right after I light the grill I add about 3 tablespoons of oil to the bag, I use olive oil because it's healthier for you, but any will do, corn oil, vegatable oil, etc. After the grill is hot I place the chops on the grill and close the cover. They need to cook about 20 minutes on high heat, and you'll need to turn them 3-4 times. When you turn them I coat the up-side of the meat with the remaining sauce, you'll need to shake the bag to mix the sauce as the oil will separate from the leftover paste. I simply pour it over the meat an put a light coat on it and usually run out on my last turn of the meat. Be careful when you add the sauce because it will cause the grill to flare up a little, but that's what give it the nice blackened coat. It goes really well with long grain wild rice or spanish rice and I like it with steamed fresh green beans too.

Hi. I just wanted to share a recipe... Creamy Italian Chicken in the Crock Pot

2pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
Cut in bite sized pieces
1/2 stick butter
4oz cream cheese
1 can chopped green chillies
1 package Italian salad dressing mix
1 can golden mushroom soup (you can use cream mushroom, but golden is better)
1/2 cup water

Place chicken in slow cooker (I season it with seasoned salt or whatever you choose)
Combine all ingredients except water. Spoon mixture over chicken. Pour water over top. Do not stir. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours. Serve over rice or noodles. I personally love spinach fettucine noodles-they are pretty and have a unique flavor.

Tip: For those of you who don't know this already-room temp cream cheese is easier to handle

This is so easy and yummy for the tummy!!

Spinach dip is yummy CBW. That is an appetizer that is used a lot around the U.S. in the major metro area restaurants. I have seen many different types. Some with my personal favorite, artichokes. I don't know if you are going to find anything comparable Velveeta in your part of the world. It actually isn't cheese, per say. It is a processed cheese. Real artery clogger although it is yummy when it is melted. This isn't a bad recipe to try out. Include the cayenne pepper that the person who reviewed it suggested. Unless of course, you don't like anything spicy.

I do not have a recipe but I would dearly love a recipe for something my Aunt Emilia used to make called "Bangers and Mashers" At least that I think it was - I know there were mashed potatoes and some kind of meat. She used to fix it for us kids when we visited. Does anyone know this recipe and would mind sharing it? Thanks so much.

Shy, that'll be SAUSAGES and mashed potatoes then ;)
Bangers is an English term for sausages.
Best servered with onion gravy, and I don't mean thet stodgey white stuff you guys call gravy, but a thick brown meat based sauce. More here: Gravy

RubyPitbull
Apr 2, 2007, 04:13 PM
The biggest problem is that we don't get the kind of sausages you guys get over there. I am sure Shy can find substitutes but I have to say that although it has now been hmmm 32 years since I had them, the sausages I ate when I was living with a family in London one summer, are still so vivid in my memory. Hot or cold, they were amazing. I have never tasted anything that came close to them. Cold, in a packed picnic basket, sitting on Brighton Beach. I remember it like it was yesterday. Oh great. Now I am hungry.

Thanks so much, I agree with the real brown gravy - actually that is the only kind I know to make. I do make a thick white sauce for country sausage gravy with biscuits. So what kind of sausages do I look for to make Bangers and Mashers? I imagine nothing from the supermarket like Hormel but the meat market, where the meat is real? Lol

1lb Fresh Chopped Strawberries
1can of Condenced milk
1can of Evaporated milk
1cup of yogurt(plain)

It's very easy and it makes a great dessert. You can add more yogurt or more of what ever. Depends what you like and what your taste is.

Try it and let me know what you think.

Okay guys, I need a receipe for Center Cut pork chops - not boneless. And, our grill is broken - so it would have to be cooked in the oven.
I do my chops one of two ways - marinated in BBQ sauce or rubbed in spices - then covered and cooked at a low temp for a couple of hours. (I like for the meat to fall off the bone) But, I want to try something different.
Any ideas?

I have one for the grill - I don't have a name for it or exact measurements. But it is one that you can't really mess up. :)

Ingredients:

1 chicken breast (for each person)
1 small/med. Zucchini - sliced 1/2 inch thick
1 plum/roma tomato - sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 tablespoons basil pesto
Cooking spray

Heat your grill to medium heat

Make a grill packet with aluminum foil - spray the inside of pack with cooking spray. Place the chicken breast in the middle, then layer with the zucchini and tomato. Top with pesto. Close up the packet - throw it on the grill for 20 minutes (or until the chicken is done).
Then enjoy!
This is so good. I always put more pesto on mine - but I really like pesto!

Once again, tonights dinner!

Coconut Shrimp

Ingredients:

1 large egg
2/3 cup beer
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour, divided
2 cups flaked coconut
24 large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on
2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, preferably canola

Procedures:

In a medium bowl, whisk together egg, beer, baking powder and 1/2 cup of the flour. Place remaining 1/4 cup flour in a shallow dish. Place coconut in a separate shallow dish. Dredge shrimp in flour and shake off excess. Dunk shrimp in beer mixture and turn to coat. Roll shrimp in coconut until all sides are coated.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook 2 minutes per side, until cooked through or opaque.

Serve with the dipping sauce of your choice. Pina Colada sauce is the best! (if you can find it). This dish goes really well with Pilaf. :)

There must be a time difference - or you are really gung-ho this morning.
This sounds terrific!

A question though - is bicarbonate of soda - baking soda? And is greaseproof paper parchment paper?

I ask because - if there is a way to mess anything up while cooking - I will be the one to do it! :)

Wow... I just discovered this sticky... IM so excited now.

the last time I made banana bread... I left out the flour on accident, must have just skimmed over it on the recipe... I got brown banana goo instead.. lol

Here is a personal favorite of mine:

Chocolate Éclair Cake

3 ½ cups milk

2 pkg Fr. Vanilla instant Pudding

1 Cool whip tub (about 16 oz)

1 Choc Icing tub

1 box Graham crackers

Mix milk and pudding until thick, then fold in thawed Cool Whip. In 9x13 pan, lay out crackers to cover bottom then scoop in half the pudding mixture. Add another layer another graham crackers, then the rest of the pudding, and one last layer of crackers (this is the layer I try to make sure is even & fully covered). Next you will need to heat tub of icing in microwave for about 15-20 seconds. Pour icing on top to cover entire cake. Put in fridge. Icing will harden again.

As side notes, I usually use the low fat cool whip, low fat graham crackers & even have used sugar-free pudding. I do however use whole milk or no less than 2%. The milk makes a difference but not any other ingredient. I even buy off-brand. I find heating a tub of icing easier & more quick and still taste good.

Pumpkin Bread

3 cups Sugar
1 cup cooking oil
4 eggs
3 1/3 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
2/3 cups water
1 15 oz. can pumpkin

1. Grease the bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of two 9x5x3 ince, three 8x4x2 inch, or four 7 1/2x3 1/2x2 inch loaf pans and set them aside. In a very large mixing bowl beat sugar and oil with an electric mixer on medium speed. Add eggs and beat well, then set aside.

2. In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Alternately add flour mixture and water to sugar mixture, beating on low speed after each addition just until combined. Beat in pumpkin. Spoon batter into prepared pans.

3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center of each loaf comes out clean. Cool completely.

I've been wanting to try this with a cream cheese icing. I wonder if it will be any good. I guess I'll never know until I test it! :p

Here's a recipe sure to add inches to your waistline, but that's why it's so darn good!
I'm not a sweet freak, but I can't stay out of this cake!

1 Yellow Cake Mix
1 can sweetened condensed milk
8 oz of sour cream
1 small 12oz container of whipped cream
Sweetened coconut ( as much as you please)
1/4 cup sugar

Prepare Cake mix per directions. ( I like to add a handful of coconut in the batter ) When finished cooking, immediately poke holes with a toothpick and drizzle the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over it and wait for it to cool.

Mix together sour cream and whipped topping and sugar together. Refrigerate until cake is cooled.
When ready , spread topping on cake... it will be a rather thick layer.
Top with coconut. I top mine with both toasted and un-toasted. Adds great texture and the toasted coconut looks nice.

Keep refrigerated.

here are a few more from my "recipe book" cnt say where I got them all, its nothing but a binder full of bits of paper and napkins ans such I've pulled from different people :)

The most amazing Bruschetta Ever!!

1 Small container grape tomatoes, diced, drained

2-3 garlic cloves, finely minced

2-3 tablespoons fresh basil, minced

16 slices baguette bread

1-2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2-3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (incredibly important)

2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Gently mix together tomatoes, garlic and basil. Lightly toast bread in moderate oven (approximately 300°F). Meanwhile, whisk together olive oil and balsamic vinegar and toss with tomato mixture. Serve tomato mixture on top of toasted bread. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Apple Berry Breakfast

Filling:
4 cups thinly sliced peeled apples(about 4 medium)
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries or sliced strawberries
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping:
1 cup Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup (5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon) margarine or butter, melted
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

For filling, combine all ingredients in large bowl; stir until fruit is evenly coated. Spoon fruit into baking dish.

For topping, combine all ingredients in medium bowl; mix until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over fruit.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender. I like to serve with Vanilla Yogurt.

Aimee's Quick Chicken

This came from a sister - It sounds odd, but it is the best chicken on earth!

ingredients:
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
4 ounces Dijon mustard
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup bacon bits
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Slather mustard evenly over chicken, then pour teriyaki sauce evenly over all. Sprinkle with bacon bits, then cover with cheese.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. (sometimes I use real bacon slices rather than bacon bits.)

Mexican spinach dip

1 box of creamed spinach (defrosted)
1 can black beans
1 jar of medium salsa
3 1/2 cups of cheese
1 big can of tyson chicken breasts

shred the chicken. Mix in bowl with all other ingrdients minus 1/2 cup of cheese. Set the one cup of cheese aside. Pour mixture into a baking tray (the cookie sheet kind with the small raised lip about 1/4 inch deep) sprinkle with last 1/2 cup of cheese. Cover in foil. Bake at 250 for 30 minutes or until cheese is completely melted. Serve hot with tortilla chips.

2/3 c semisweet chocolate chips

Blend vanilla wafers and walnuts into crumbs in a food processor. Transfer into a 9 inch pie plate. Mix in the butter and maple syrup. Using a fork, press firmly onto the bottom and up sides of plate to make the crust. Chill 15 minutes in the freezer.
In bowl blend the french vanilla ice cream, pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Spoon into the pie crust, Smooth top with spatula, Chill 1 hour in freezer, till firm.

Before serving the pie, place the heavy cream and granulated sugar in a bowl, mix with mixer on high speed till peaks form. Spoon into a pastry bag, using a star tip and pipe around the edge of the pie.
In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt shortening and chocolate chips, stirring, till smooth, transfel to a small container, Plastic, and chill for 30 minutes in the freezer, till firm. One package carnitas, one can cola, one16-18 0z carton real orange juice, one can evaporated milk, and one cup water. Salt and pepper to taste, bring to a boil, and then simmer until tender. You may have to add more water as it cooks because the pork needs to stay coverd.I know it sounds weird and it looks really horrible as it is cooking--but it turns out perfect every time and all you need to eat with it are some warm corn tortillas.

WOW. I tried this and is it ever so good. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Fish and vegetable rice,

Salmon (any kind) buy salmon which is pink and has an even color. I use the frozen ones. Do not thaw the fish if it is frozen.

One lime

Some olive oil

3 cups of rice

1 bouquet of dill

1 clove of garlic

2 table spoon salt

This dish takes about 45 minutes to one hour to prepare.

Set the oven temperature at 450 F

First start with the rice:
Fill a 4 liter pot with 3 liters of water and cover with the lid and bring it to boil (maximum heat).
While the water is on the stove to boil prepare the dills:

Wash the dills and drain the water a little bit. Then chop them together with the garlic clove in a food processor for about a minute or so, so that they are cut into tiny pieces (you can as well use a knife and cut them but they have to be very very small pieces).

Rinse the rice several times with lukewarm water and add it to boiling water together with 2 table spoon salt, and simmer (keep the lid off the pot) and stir now and then for about ten minutes or until the rice grains are tender (BUT be careful not too soft) it is a bit tricky, usually when the rice grains start jumping up and down in the boiling water and come on the surface of the water it is the right time to drain the rice into a colander. If it is too soft the grains will stick to each other. The time depends on the type of rice. For basmati rice it takes usually longer ( you can soak the rice for about 2 hours in salty water so that they grow longer and empty the soak water and rinse once before cooking). After you drain the rice, put the pot back on the stove and reduce the heat to a little bit lower than the medium ( if you imagine it as a clock put it on 8 o'clock position for electric stoves) grease the bottom of the pot with vegetable oil and add the rice and chopped dills, alternatively ( a layer of rice, then some chopped dills, a layer of rice, then chopped dills). Form the rice into a hill shape in the pot so that the rice does not touch the wall of the pot, then with a knife or end of a spoon make 5 wholes in the hill :) cover the pot lid with a clean kitchen cloth and put the lid on the pot and wait for 20 minutes, reduce the heat to minimum and wait 15 minutes. You can split a pita bread and put one layer of it in the bottom of the pot before adding the rice, it makes a crispy treat that is yummy. But be careful to reduce the heat after 20 minutes, other wise it will burn. After that, mix the rice gently with the dills and serve.

Salmon:

While you are waiting for the rice to cook, prepare the salmon.

Mix about 3 tablespoons of olive oil (depending on the amount of salmon you have) with lime juice. Wash the frozen or fresh fish with water and spread the oil mixture all over the fish pieces. Lay the fish in an oven tray or oven dish and place the dish in the preheated oven and wait for 30 minutes. It is better to place the dish in a larger oven tray and fill the lower tray with a cup of water. This water evaporates and avoids the fish from drying and you will have a juicy fish.

Try to put the fish in the oven 30 minutes before serving so that it is fresh and not dry.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I hope I have explained it well with my not perfect English :) It is my favorite dish.

Okay, I have an appetizer recipe to share. I have taken it to a couple of parties and not had any to bring home. Everyone has asked for the recipe, so they must be good. Right?

Anyway,

Stuffed Jalapeño Peppers.

24 Jalapeño Peppers sliced in half and seeded
1 lb. bulk sausage (I just hot italian sausage)
8 oz. block of cream cheese - bring to room temp.
1 or 2 cups of shredded cheese - bring to room temp.

Brown the sausage, drain. Mix sausage, cream cheese and shredded cheese. Stuff the peppers. Bake on a cookie sheet at 350 for 20 minutes. Serve.

I have used mozzarella cheese and the "fiesta" cheese blend. I like the fiesta blend better.
Also, if you have surgical or latex gloves available, I would use those to seed and cut the peppers.

Hi, Here is another dish, it is a kind of stuffed chicken and it is kind of formal. You will need some ingredients that can be found in Iranian or arabian stores.

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken
5-7 prunes
Half a cup of dried berberis (or Zereshk*)(get it from an Iranian store)
1-2 onions
1 cup of walnut crumbs
2-3 tablespoonful pomegranate juice (again you can find it in an Iranian or arabian stores) some tumeric powder
Some salt

Stuffing:

Sort and wash the berberis (soak them in water, they will come up on the surface of water and after about 10 minutes collect them from the surface so that the sand and dirt remains at the bottom of the bowl. Then rinse with water a little bit more and let it drain)
Wash the prunes and set them aside. Slice the onions into thin slices (do not chop) and fry them in a pan with some vegetable oil. First at high heat and as soon as they lose some water reduce the heat to minimum and continue frying until they are golden and tender. Cool the fried onions and mix them with the berberis and walnut crumbs, 4-5 of the prunes and the pomegranate paste.

Chicken:

Wash the chicken ( do not remove the skin at all). Cover the inside and outside of the chicken with tumeric powder and salt (try to put some under the skin, but be careful not to break the skin) stuff the chicken with the stuffing and sew the chicken belly? :) rub some oil or butter on the chicken skin.

You can roast this chicken in the oven or cook it slowly with half a cup of water and some onions and prunes in a pot on the stove. I prefer cooking it for about half an hour in the pot and then transferring it to an oven dish and roasting it for half another or so in the oven at 350 F.
You should be careful not to over cook it. I usually serve this with rice. Prepare the rice as I previously explained but this time without the dills. Enjoy!

*Zereshk (زرشک) is the Persian name for the dried fruit of Berberis vulgaris, which are widely cultivated in Iran. Zereshk is widely used in cooking, imparting a tart flavor to chicken dishes.

Not really - unless you miss a seed from the peppers (that is where the heat comes from)
We had kids trying them and they weren't to hot.

I was looking between the screen and window of my shop and noticed a bunch of dried bugs. Does anyone have bug recipes?
How long are dried bugs good?
Do they lose their protein value?

Here is a little recipe that my dad makes its very delicious.

Goat Cheese Chicken with sun dried tomatoes

You will need :

1 baking pan.
1 sauce pan medium sized.
4 Bonless chicken breasts.
2 garlic cloves
Pinch of salt.
Pinch of pepper.
1 jar of sun dried tomatoes you can find this at your local supermarket. They usually come in a jar.
1 can of diced tomatoes.
1 half onion small diced preffrebly red onions.
A little bit of red wine.

* Just for a prefrence I like to add prescuitto to my sauce it gives it a great flavor.*

*************************************
Preheat oven to 350
Take your Boneless chicken breasts season them with a little bit of salk and pepper... and put them in a non stick baking dish. Cook for about 20 min.

Place temp on stove to medium... In the sauce pan put some EVOO (Extra virgin Olive olive.) Then place your small chopped onions and garlic. Then Brown.

*if you would like to try it with proscuito cut that up into small pieces and then add it in with your onions and your garlic and brown*

After that then add your diced tomatoes and your red wine (you can add some fresh basil for extra taste if you would like.) Then add your sundried tomatoes. And some salt and pepper. Let this simmer for about 10-15 minutes and then you may add some parmasan cheese if you desire.

*If you prefer your sauce to be thick you can also add some tomatoe sauce or a little bit of paste. *

After everything is finished place the chicken in a serving dish. Take your goat cheese and spread it on the chicken you can put it on there thick or however you enjoy it. Then pour your sauce over the chicken and goat cheese and serve.

You may use pasta as well as a side dish. Or fresh green beans.

This dish is a deffinate promise to heaven on earth you will love it!

This is my homemade chinese dumplings with sauce.

There is a lot to save for lunch and for a snack as well.

YOU WILL NEED:

5 lbs of 75% Lean hamburger meat.
Package of Green onions.
Salt
Garlic salt or powder
2 eggs
Ground red pepper seasoning
3 garlic cloves
Soy sauce
White vinigar
4 packages of won ton wrappers (you can find these at your local oreintal market.)
Bowl of water or eggwash
Steamer
Sesame seeds

HOW TO MAKE THE DUMPLINGS:

Take you hamburger meat and put it in a large bowl you can mix in.
Chop Your green onions up and put them in the bowl with your hamburger
Also finley chop the 3 garlic cloves and add that in the bowl.
Add some salt, garlic salt or powder, red pepper seasoning, and some soy sauce.
Then add your 2 eggs.
Mix the hamburger meat up until its well blended together.

NOW ITS TIME TO MAKE THE DUMPLING SAUCE:
Take about 2 cups pf soy sauce and put it in a Bowl add about 2/3 cups of vinager. Add some red pepper seasoning, some garlic salt or powder, and some salt. Mix very well.

( If you want you sauce to be a little spicier or sweet add some sugar or some hot sauce in the mix. )

Then add your sesame seeds in the sauce and mix again. Then put in the fridge to cool.

While all this is going on you should be making your steamer hot and ready.

NOW that you have your hamburger meat and your sauce done...

Take out your dumplings/won ton wrappers and your bowl of water and eggwash.

Take one wrapper at a time and spread the water or eggwasg across the wrapper. Add a small spoon sized amount of meat in the wrapper and fold over.make sure you don't use too much meat or your wrapper will break.

Then press your fingers across down on the wrapper until it seems closed enough it won't open.

Then put your dumplings in your steamer. It doesn't take long to cook. Let it stem about 7-10 minutes and take them out and set in serving dish.

Then take out your sauce dip your dumplin in the sauce and BON APETITE!

* Just a note you don't have to use all that hamburger I like to cook a lot so that I can freeze the dumplings take it out and microwave it for about 1 min and have a good snack!*

Here's one that my family just loves. It came about one night when we had "nothing good to eat" It's really simple and good. It doesn't have a fancy name or anything we just call it "meat bean casserole"

1lb browned hamburger/turkey meat
1 large can of cut green beans-drained
1 can of cream of celery soup
1 can of french fried onions
1-2 oz of shredded cheese
About a 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
Original Ms.Dash

This is all done on the stovetop.. NO baking! Yay!

Brown and drain the meat
In a large skillet over a medium flame mix together the browned meat, drained green beans, cream of celery soup, about half the f/f onions, and the 1/4milk. Sprinkle the Ms. Dash over the top. Mix it together nice and good. If it looks like it needs more milk then add more, if it looks too soupy then add more onions. Heat it up for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. When everything is warm you can add more f/f onions on top if you want then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top and let melt a little bit then serve. Makes 6 servings :)

Green Beans Marsala

My own personal recipe! I actually made it up myself!

In a Wok or large skillet, sauté some chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil, until onion is transparent. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Stir fry fresh or frozen green beans (add more oil if necessary)... you want them still crisp.

Add onion and garlic mixture back into beans during the last few seconds of stir fry.

Just before you take them off the heat, pour in a half cup or so of dry Marsala (or Saki)

Serve with sea salt.

I don't eat green beans any other way now!

I'll ask this here and hope for an answer:

Does anyone have a good recipe for vegetable juice cocktail?

I like V8, but it is pastuerized, and has no enzymes in it. I would like to try making my own out of fresh veggies.
