Looks like a nice one. The only other one I found in taking a quick look. (no mail in rebate) is the 17" model.

HP Pavilion dv7-4165dx Refurbished Notebook PC - AMD Phenom II X3 N850 2.2GHz, 4GB DDR3, 640GB HDD, Blu-ray, 17.3 LED, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit at TigerDirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7166293&Sku=M975-170071)

I've seen the same reports on that model on several sites. Not just the refurbished ones either..

I am leaning towards the i3 Intel processor as much as I would like an i5 or i7 or above,I can't see spending that much for a system that'll be bogged down and traded away in 3-4 years.

Thanks for looking though, I think I am on that one first.

Laptops are a very personal choice. But Im glad to see a post that at least realizes how much they cost. Your in the right price bracket and your first choice is a good one. A 17" is nice but it can be a pain to lug around.

And wait till you get to backpacks and cases for them ;)

I am learning the 'personal choice' thing,, there are too many different systems out there for the basic buyer to understand without getting brain damage.

I own a 15.6" Compaq now and that has made the HP product line one I want to stay with, although I am not real happy with 'some' of the reports I have read,I know (like on here) the comments and ratings are from a myriad of personalities and users and I just look at some with a grain of salt with just their wording.

I'll let y'all know what I get(it almost seems like a crap-shoot to see if you are going to get what you pay for:( )

I usually pick HP's over anything else. Granted I have a Sony and Lenovo too but I love my HP.

The Sony (if bigger) would be an an amzing laptop but I was in training in California and needed something little to haul around.

Let us know how it runs!
