My daugther had a tonsil infection and was prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days. We left out of the province the 10th day and I forgot her medication, so she took it as prescribed for 9 days instead of 10. 2 days later she started a fever. I gave her motrin every 8 hours. The fever is coming back every time the 8 hours is past. Now, 2 days of fever out of province later, she woke up in middle of night shaking and saying she is cold BUT NO FEVER. Again I gave her motrin, it took an hour before she stopped shaking and fell asleep. We drove back to our house today and got home late. Now, I'm wondering if I should not wait more and go to the hospital or if it's OK to wait tomorrow to see a walking doctor?? Tks, Audrey

I have personally had this happen. Her fever could spike up to 106 Degrees which can be deadly.
I suggest you go to the EMERGENCY ROOM IMMEDIATELY!
Infections can spread even after the antibiotics are taken, she may have also had a compromised immune system due to already being sick plus the antibiotic.
