I was playing basketball today and I guess I slammed my Big Toe very hard into my sneaker... it was very painful I looked at my foot to make sure it was OK and even though it was still hurting kept on playing... when I went home I saw it again and noticed some purple at the base of the nail and I removed my nail polish and the whole nail is Purple and throbbing a lot!!

How likely is it that my nail is going to fall off? Should I be doing something like icing it or using an ointment?
