Yes you can but they will not work like a 3 way. If you turn the light on by the switch you won't be able to shut it off by the remote. Tell us more about how you want this to work.

Thank you both. I have a Harbor Breeze 52" Avian (model L05BN). Currently we only use the remote. We want to be able to use either the remote or the hard switches, or if need be just the switches. Today if I turn the light on with the remote and turn it off by the switch - I can not turn it back on by the switch. Suggestions?

The switch will not turn the light on, only off. So if I remove the remote from the equation, I can't turn the light on. The only reason I would like to keep the remote is to work the fan (not having any pull chains).
I have 2 switches, one is a dimmer and the other is on off only.

The Fan can be left on the Remote, and could be hooked to the on/off switch.(probably there already).
The one from the dimmer can be for the light.
That light wire may be capped in the fans canopy.
You need to disconnect the Wire out of the receiver that goes to the light, and have the dimming wire connect to the lights wire.

In post 3 I pointed out this set up will not work like a 3 way switch and you are still hoping to make that happen, it will not. You can set this up so your remote can turn it on/off or the switch can turn it on/off. However, if you turn on with the remote you can not shut off with the switch.

Thank you! We now control the light by the switches, if and when we need the fan, we'll pull out the remote. One of the unfortunate things about this is the max halogen light is 100W which is not bright in our dark house. I wonder if we can upgrade the light fixture to hold more wattage. Anyway- again, thank you for your help!
