Just noticed bubbling paint where the drywall meets the bathtub at the dry end of the bathtub. The drywall is clearly damp all the way through. Cut out a piece and there is some black mold on the inside at the floor and on the inside of the drywall. Appears to be a little damp behind the tub when you reach in there. There are no pipes. Thought maybe the issue was water spraying on the drywall when taking a shower but the carpet isn't wet and wouldn't the water run down the painted wall to the carpet unless it was being saturated. Has anyone run into this before or have any idea where the moisture could be coming from. Just moved into the house 6 months. Ago. Thanks.

If u have a shower curtain, water can be going around end and wetting s/r.

If shower door, inside door should be toward shower head.

It also can be leaking through shower door frame if not sealed correctly.

Check chalking where tile meets tub for cracks.

After getting rid of mold and refinishing wall, clean out old chalking and re do with bath and kitchen chalking.

These are a few things u can check.

Let us know how u make out.
