Two weeks ago, I went onto a payday loan site, I had got it off my text. Anyway tried to play around and see if it would let me get one. It didn't never actually got clear info and got fed up with trying. Plus I started to receive telemarketing calls and I had gave them some of my personnel info. So afterwards made me regret doing it and a little nervous. So here is my question?? A company called my work and my cell different numbers saying they where some kindof agency sounding official. Like debt collectors but more aggressive acting like law officials sort of but the man I spoke with said I had made a loan and was in trouble for non payment and other various things... I questioned him and he hung up on me. I called back several times and I couldn't understand him well for one because he sounded middle eastern or from india. I looked the number up online (google)and the same number and situation was there(it was a scam). Even same name of the man I spoke with!! I called highway patrol and tried to file a report with the police also called my banking institute to let them know what was going on. Was that enough or should I of done more to make sure they can not scam me out of my money?? *** if anything else anyone can think let me know. Oh also I did talk to the bogus company after doing all this and let them know what I had done.

The proper way to post follow-up questions or info is through the Answer options, NOT Comments.

Generally the AG's office is where you report such scams. They may already have a file on this company or will open one. In the meantime, you are protecting yourself against their claiming you received any money.

I would also talk to your payroll dept. Explain to them what happened and that any attempt to garnish your salary would be a fraud.
