Hello,
My name is Christian C. I'm 24 years old and I've found myself in a serious situation.
I came to the U.S 7 years ago when I was 18 with a Tourist visa. When I arrived at the airport immigration officers gave me an I-94
I was supposed to leave the country within 6 months but I stayed due to familiar reasons becoming part of the thousands of immigrants in this country.
I've managed adapt to the U.S culture which I personally enjoy and make the best out of my situation.
Currently I'm in a 3 year relationship with an U.S citizen and we have planned to get married, this will also help to fix my status and become a U.S resident.
Here comes the critical point, unfortunately a couple months ago I lost my passport/visa and the I-94.
I don't own any photocopies of any of these documents.
I believe in order for me to fix my status once I'm married the I94 is a way to show the date I came to the U.S legally
Is there any way I could request another I-94 given the fact that I'm not legally in this country anymore?
They took fingerprints of myself when I was at the airport, I believe this is a way to prove I came to the U.S legally.
If anyone could help me with any information I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.
