I was parked in a fast food carpark, came back to the car, hopped in,seatbelt on,started car,put on indicator to show car was started and going to move, waited for all visible traffic to pass, then waited another few seconds to make sure no more vehicles in any possible blind spot, checked all mirrors and over shoulder then reversed slowly out,to hear a car horn.stopped checked mirrors again, still no vehicle visible, drove forward and stopped car, then saw small car directly behind me that I simply had not been able to see.P plate driver whom I am sure must have been on phone or some such.small scratch in other car bonnet(I was driving a landcruiser ute.)i have no insurance, but requested that the driver allow me to obtain a quote for repairs. I have asked that she wait a couple of days for quote as a friend is a qualified panelbeater(but away for 4 days),and will repair car immediately after quote at no cost to her or her insurance, but she insists that she must have the quote immediately or insurance will go with their quote.what should I do?

Get her a quote immediately,

She is not required to allow your "friend" do it, she has a full right to use the repair shop of her choice and you need to get your check book out and pay for it.

So you get another shop to do the quote
