Hi, I'm not really sure where to start. My ex-boyfriend and I have a 1 y.o. daughter. My ex has always had a drinking problem, but after I left him in September, it slowly began to spiral completely out of control. He has been unemployed for going on two years now, and initially when I left we remained friendly for the sake of our daughter. Although he drank in the evenibg he was fine during the day and would watch our daughter while I was at work. Around December, I caught him drinking with her in his custody and told him that he could no longer have her unsupervised. Very shortly after he wrapped his car around a tree and got a DUI. The last few months have been a complete nightmare. He has stalked me, harassed me, threatened to commit suicide if I didn't let him see our daughter (I had to have him Baker Acted) it has been unreal. What can I do to obtain emergency sole custody of our daughter? I don't have the money for an attorney because he isn't paying any child support and I am supporting her completely by myself. He does get unemployment, but he has been laid off so long that his benefits will be gone in three weeks. Please help!

Of course the answer is the same as it would have been a few months ago, you file in court for custody, check out to see if there is a legal aid society, many if not most US counties and large cities have them that may help with at least the paper work for custody. You will need to have proof of his drinking, his DUI, his wreck and more to present to the court
