I read a book when I was about 12 or 13, I got it in the young adult section in the local library. My memories of it are very vague I just remember loving it, what I remember about the story is. Two children a boy and girl, I think they were irish, it had a irish mythological feel to it, I'm pretty sure at the beginning of the book they sneaked out of their house in the evening and ran in to a field, I think there was a scare crow and it possibly came to life, they had an adventure I think they were saving something, and there might have been something about golden apples, I know its all very vague and I can't remember much detail but if anybody knows what it might be please please help me, its been over ten years and it drives me crazy :(

Can you call that library's children's department and ask them about this book?

What a limp response! It was only ten years ago.

They probably still have the book, it has been read and loved by other children so the librarians have checked it out many times, the librarians are very familiar with their collection so someone may instantly know which title you are asking about, and that library owns a number of print and electronic reader's advisory resources to help them come up with a title, if they haven't figured it out yet.

OK thank you but I don't need your unfriendly input, it's a small town its not the same staff and I have gone in and looked for the book but I know them and they won't know what I'm looking for my memories of the book are vague which is why I came on here looking to reach someone who might have read it and recognise the description. How that for a limp response

I wasn't being unfriendly -- I was telling you how to find it from a librarian's point of view. Libraries field lots of similar questions every day. My favorite was, "I read a book when I was in grade school. It had a yellow cover with a picture on it. The book was this wide by this tall and was full of stories. Please find it for me" or "Oprah talked about this book about six years ago. It's red with the picture of a man on the cover. I want to read it again." We were successful both times.

Since you don't want to help, I'll do my best to find out the title of your book tomorrow once the library is open. I'd call your library, but I don't have their number memorized, so I'll call my own.
