My question is: My employer recently changed the 401K provider as of Jan 1st 2011. It is now February 25, 2011 and I have stated several times to my employer and the new provider that I am not able to pull up a schedule showing me my contributions by pay check periods. I have been promised 3 times that this information will become available. To date nothing has changed.
The previous provider they broke it down by each pay period showing me:
The pay period in which the money came from.
The amount that was deposited into my 401K.
The date in which my employer turned the money over to the provider.

With the new company all they are giving me is my balance and the info in where my money is invested.
My question is are they allowed to keep this info from me.

PS: My employer did not have a great track record in getting the money in on time which is my concern and they also do not match.

Thanks for any info you may be able to pass on to me. Joe

Some web sites are better than others, and there is no rule regarding what information the 401(k) plan administrator must make available on their web site. However, you should be able to see the information you are looking for when you receive your quarterly statement in the mail. In the mean time perhaps you can call the plan administrator's customer service line and ask them to provide the info for the last couple of pay periods.
