I had someone to come and check my pressure tank, because pressure in the house was real low. He replaced the switch and gauge to pressure tank because they were bad but he said pressure tank was good. Pressure is great! But, now with no water being used and even turning water off to the house the pump cuts on every 6 minutes and runs for about 40 seconds to bring the pressure back up to 50 and then cuts off. It was suggested that there probably is a leak in line somewhere from pump to house. Our well is located at the front of our yard probably 120 feet from the house. My husband and I with a help of a friend dug four different holes leading to the pipe. We didn't see any wet whatsoever. Should we have seen some type of water somewhere in the holes? Or do we have to go foot by foot to find out where it is? Any other suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for your help!

What type of well, drilled or dug? What type of pump surface or submersible? Is there a shut off valve on the well pipe where it comes into the house?

If you have shutoff water to the house and pressure still leaks down, then you probably have a leaking checkvalve or wellpipe.
