Hi,
My visa status changed from F1 to H1-B in October... In that case, do I need to file in 1040-NR-EZ or 1040-EZ form? Also, if I file NR-EZ, can I take benefits of tax credits (400$)?
Many Thanks for your help,
Swati

When did your enter US on F-1? Are you single or married. Your U.S. Tax Return: The U.S. Visas (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/08/us-visas.html)

I have been in US from Aug 2007 to Oct 2010 on F1-visa. Starting, Oct 2010 I switched to H1-B visa. I am single. Therefore, I do not qualify the substantial presence test. My confusion is whether I should file my taxes as a non-resident or a dual status alien. Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Swati
