Hello I'm 19 years old and well I've been waking up very thirsty in the morning everyday for a long time now, and I always go urinating frequently during they day. But I also drink plenty of water through out the day.infact, I only drink water instead of any juice or soda. Even if I drink water to quench my thirst, I usually end up peeing it in like 30 minutes to an hour. I don't know why. Does anyone know what causes this? Or is this some kind of symptom of a disease?

Hello Diego,

Unfortunately no one here can diagnose what condition you may have as there are several reasons you may be constantly thirsty.

A couple of problems which spring to mind is Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) or Diabetes.

Of course there could be other causes which are easily treated.

I must advise you to got to your doctor and get the problem investigated and diagnosed. The more quick this is done the more quick it can be treated.

Below please find a couple of links which should give you more information.

Good luck and I hope it is nothing too serious.

Diego,

I have to agree with Cy on this one. While it does sound like Diabetes, it is imperative that you seek the advice of your physician.

It could be nothing more than fluid volume overload (drinking too much water), or it could be as serious as Diabetes. If it is diabetes and it is left untreated you could suffer some severe complications.

Please seek the advice of your health care professional to be sure of what you are experiencing.

Please, please be careful with the water... Sounds like you drink A LOT. Please see the link below... you may have to copy and paste, but this is the site to go to. It's in reference to water intoxication-drinking too much water can kill you. There are several more sites too-please Google it and you will see.

MO is correct here. Water intoxication can be deadly!! In fact it happened a few weeks ago in California I think it was.

Too much water will unbalance your electrolytes also.

Just how much do you drink?

Yes! See your doctor immediately and get your blood sugar tested. Untreated diabetes is insidious, debilitating, and eventually deadly. Not something to put off.

Diabetes springs to mind. A quick urine test at GP surgery will give instant results but if positive may then entail blood tests and a hospital appointment.
