I got pregnant when I was 17 and the father and I broke up and went our own ways before I found out I was pregnant. I started dating another guy and then found out I was pregnant. The guy I was dating said that he would take care of me and the baby. So I made the mistake of not telling my ex right away. After my daughter was born I told my current that I needed to tell the father and he freaked out. Long story short my current and his mother told me that if he was not allowed to sign the birth certificate he would take my daughter and I would never see her again. I argued but in the end my fear got the best of me and he sign( I know very dumb) Ii was young and dumb and I didn't know what to do! I did tell the father but he ignored me.. Now 10 yrs later he wants to do the DNA test but I am not sure how to do all of this since the guy on the BC is no longer around.

I know I made a really dumb choice in the past, something I have never repeated but I was 17 and her dad was 16...

Depends on where you live, in some places, the man who lied and committed fraud and signed the birth certificate is the father and will remain the father legally.

I would assume you have filed for custody and also receive child support from the man who signed the birth certificate, that is what you needed to have done.

But yes, the real father in many places can file a motion in court for visits and ask for a DNA test though the court.
You will have to allow the test if the bio father gets the court order.

So you do nothing but wait for the bio father to file a motion in family court and then you have the test done.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

As the legal father supported the child?
