I was pregnant for 4 months, and had to have a therapeutic abortion. During my pregnancy I was under a severe amount of stress and did not take prenatal vitamins. M.D. told me there is nothing worng with my uterus, etc. Can you tell me why possibly the baby did not survive?

What was the stress? Could that be the culprit?

As we're not doctors, no we can't tell you why you're pregnancy didn't work. I'm sorry to hear though. This would be something that only an physician that has examined you could tell you. Stress could play a role.

Stress was caused from arguments with my boyfriend. I am very upset about it, and want to have another baby. Doctor told me nothing internal was wrong with me.

Can you be pregnant and not be in a stressful situation, i.e. arguments with your boyfriend? You need to resolve the stress before you get pregnant again.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Was an exam done on baby and your placenta? Did you have any blood work done? What was your health like prior to and during the pregnancy?

While stress from arguing with your boyfriend can be a challenge, it would not be the most likely cause.

It may be something that is never determined unfortunately.

I agree. Why would you want to have a baby with someone that causes you so much stress and that you fight with? Why risk another pregnancy and/or bring up a child in that environment?

Agreed! I totally understand that. It's sad that it happened, and NOW we do not fight. We never had arguments before, it was just stressful times... He understands completely, that we can not argue and have a healthy relationship and/or baby. Thank you for advice.

I do not have health insurance at this time, and tests were not done. I understand there may be nothing wrong with me. But my main concern is did stress cause this, and not taking prenatal vitamins. I don't understand how it may never be determined..

If you don't have insurance there is always planned parenthood. They have low cost and sometimes free services.
