Hi I am 31 weeks pregnant and last night I was just standing and I got a really bad pain in my side, it felt like a menstrual cramp but way more intense on my upper left side of my stomach, it hurt so bad I held my breath so it wouldn't hurt, it lasted for about an hour. I laid on my stomach and breathed slowly and it went away. It came back after I got in the car but not as bad, and the next day it hurt the same but lower in my stomach. The baby was kicking and moving around the whole time and still is.

Is this normal? Or should I be worried?

Some cramping/contractions would be normal at this stage, but usually are not severe or long lasting. It would be a good idea to let your doctor or midwife be aware of it.

Pregnancy can make some situations more likely, gallstones for example, and your doctor may want to check for such things.
