Hello, I had cervical funneling at week 30 and was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labour. I had 2 steriod injections 24 hours apart and went on bed rest. At 30 weeks My DD at was estimated to be ~3.69 lbs, but the ultraslound at 34 weeks estimated 5 lbs, so there's clearly a slow down of weight gain (but not sure if its because I was eating less or due to the steriod)... currently I'm 36w4d and I'll likely carry her full term . I am just very concerned about the steroid shots because I don't know what are the long term effect of the steroids have on my baby. Will she develop to be a normal child or will there be some side effects that will affect her in the long run (e.g brain, body development?). This is my first child and I felt extreamely guilty of not taking better care of her because the cervis funneling wouldn't have happen if I hadn't work so much. *** advice. Experiences from other mom who went through similar situations will useful.

It's impossible to say for certain, but as a general rule, they will not give any medication to a pregnant woman that will harm her baby, unless not giving it involves worse harm. So it's reasonable to expect that your baby will be born normal, with no more problems than any other baby.

All pregnancies are different, and continuing to work is normal advice. You can't blame yourself for not knowing that you were one of the minority who should have reduced your workload.
