My British husband and I (American citizen) have been living and working in South Korea for the past two years. We are planning on staying for one more year, doing some traveling and then settling in the US. I'm aware that the green card process takes 8-10+ months. My question is where would be the best place to proceed with the immigration paperwork. We will be here in Korea until March 2012. Is it realistic that everything could be taken care of in this time? We also want to spend some time with his family in the UK before permanently settling in the US. Would it be better to start the paperwork there? What happens to our case if it's not finished by the time our contract finishes in Korea?

Any help would be appreciated.
