Well, if it's late and you're experiencing cramps it may be that your period is about to start very soon. I usually know when my period is about to start because I get cramps about a day before. Cramps with periods is pretty normal.

If the cramps are painful enough that they are interfering with daily activities and/or not responding to your usual pain meds or anything, you might want to talk with your doctor.
