I live in an end of terrace house. I can hear my neighbours doors banging all the time. They tell me they don't bang the doors but they sound that way in my house. Also I can hear their baby crying, them singing to the baby, almost everything in the hir house . Do others expereince such problems? It's a converted property.

Converted as in a larger property converted into several smaller dwellings?

What you are experiencing is a poorly done conversion... little thought or effort was put into sound deadening... and I wonder about if there was even proper fire breaks as required in many areas.

If it was properly done As in a quality job... you wouldn't hear any but the loudest sounds, banging or thumping would be the hardest to isolate because of their lower harder to dampen frequencies. ANd those would be essentually impossible to eliminate entirely.

My neighbours house and mine used to be one large house, then in 2004 it was converted into two separate dwellings. Floors are also beginning to slope a bit towards the walls and windows. I suspect it was a 'cowboy' builders job.
