I am unemployed and having such a difficult time to find employment because of my criminal background. I have a felony in my background and I believe that that must be the reason why I am not getting hired. I have a BA in Spanish, with a minor in English and French. I used to be a teacher, but now I can no longer teach because of that felony. My conviction took place in 1997 and I discharged from probation in 2007. I had been working in a call center that did no criminal backgrounds and worked there for about ten years, but they got really snotty about sales and my sales were low, and in the end they fired me. Now, I cannot find work anywhere. Last year I went back to school, a technical school, and studied for Business Account Specialist. They told me that they would be able to help me find work even though I had a criminal background when I enrolled, but after I graduated, I have not been hired anywhere. Pretty soon, the student loans I got to pay for those classes will soon be due, and I have no income. I don't know what to do-- I'm desperate! Nobody seems to want to hire me. I want to know, where I can apply to work that would be felon-friendly?
