My daughter just called from college (4 hours away) because her Corolla is leaking water as she drives. Water is dripping in on the driver's side just to the left of her head, on the passenger side in about the same area, and also just above her rearview mirror. There was a heavy snow yesterday and obviously this is the result of snow melt. But why is it leaking and what can she do about it?

It is leaking through the windshield gasket. If it is an older model it has a rubber gasket that is possibly cracked and would need to be replaced. Newer models have polybutyl adhesive seals and the cold weather may have caused a separation on the seal. Make sure the snow and ice is off the car. Take it to a windshield shop for an inspection.
