Hello Stringer,

... I have a sense that you know and like the Janitorial/Cleaning business. I am starting in this industry, I am an Industrial Eng. With an MBA - I do not care to work for anyone else any more, I am in my 50's - There is an abundance of low skill labor in my area (S. Florida), and believe this type of business still has lots of potential.
What is your take on it, and what is your recommendation to grow a solid customer base, I am starting from zero. What is the best way to secure initial contracts? I am willing to knock on doors, cold calling, networking, etc.
I want to thank you in advance for any advice and would appreciate your insight immensely
Respectfully and Sincerely,

Luis Velez

HI Luis,

Sorry, I have been out of town on business and just returned (for a while and have to travel again).

I just got home a while ago and I am very tired so I will come back tomorrow to respond.

Hello Stringer,
Thank you for your professionalism and for being so nice as to send me your message even though you're just getting in from your trip. Again, I want to thank you in advance for any good tidbit of real life information you can share, which would energize my efforts in getting my venture off to a good start. I have tried banks, office buildings, etc.; but it seems that now days, there is always a main office or Corp. office out of state who is in charge of granting these contracts.

Best Regards,

Dinngo

Luis,

I have been very busy lately. I will be on tomorrow (Saturday) around 10 AM Central time, see you then if you are around.

For someone with dedication for their clients and a lot of ambition this is an excellent business. It takes time, a learning curve, hard work and no time schedules for yourself.

But to me it is the most satisfying business that I have ever been involved in. Are there disappointments, yes. Does it take total involvement, yes. Is it profitable, yes (however sometimes not at first).

Do I love it, yes (sometimes more than others)

You have to commit for the long run Luis. I like people and want to perform at my best... always. Over all, in my opinion if you have these qualities you will succeed.

If you have a moment, let's get started...
