A gardener has 100 meters of fencing to enclose two adjacent rectangular gardens. The gardener wants the enclosed area to be 350 square meters. What dimensions should the gardener use to obtain this area?

I think "two adjacent rectangular gardens" means that the whole area is one big rectangle, with a cross-fence cutting it in half, forming two separate gardens.
If the length of the each garden is L, and the width is W, as in the figure below, we know the total amount of fence used is 4L + 3W. We also know the area of each garden is LW, so the area of both gardens together is 2LW.

Now can you solve those equations to find L and W?
