My mother was diagnosed with Bipolar and she also had Fibromyalgia. I took care of her.. it got so bad. In the summer of 2008, she all of a sudden asked me, if I could go anywhere right now, where would I want to go? My first thought was Hawaii. She said, let's do it! I said, mom, we can't afford it! She said for me not to worry about it. She scheduled the tickets, hotels, and everything. I can't go into all the details, but she committed suicide the 2nd day we were there. I found her. Having no contact with my father or family members, I had to take care of this all on my own. We were like sisters. She left me 2 notes and was in the bed with a Bible and photos of me. What if my mom didn't repent before she took the pills? She never turned away from God when she was alive. Does this mean that she is in Hell and not in Heaven with God? Please, help me with this.

God sees what's in our heart. Your mom was bipolar and suffering with fibro. God knows that and understands what she was up against.

You have my deepest sympathies. It's really tough to lose a mom under any circumstances, but especially under the one you faced. It sounds like she loved you very much.

My first wife, ( although I still think she was killed ( shot to death) the official police report says she shot her self.
I don't believe it personally but things like that happen.

When I counsel people I look at it this way.
1. we never know on anyone if they were saved or now, we can not know what was in their heart, only God knows that. So even the best most sainted person we know, may not make it, if their heart was not really right,
And someone we thing is evil may be there,

If someone is ill and not mentally stable, I personally, ( can't back it up by any real bible verses) that what they do is not going to be used against them by God. I compare it to that idea of a child, where they are not held liable for their sins prior to a certain age ( when they are mentally able to know right from wrong.
So if a person is mentally ill and does not know that difference, I think God looks at what they were or what they believed of if they had accepted Christ before the illness.
