Please somebody help me. I moved from SC to GA in 2004. I continued to work in SC until 2005 when I then to work in GA. My husband has always worked in SC until 2003 when he beacame disabled and could no longer work. I have always filed my state and federal taxes and received a refund, I was diagnosed with MS in 2008, I have continued to try to work. We made hardly any money from 2003 until 2006, In 2005 we only made $15,000. In 2008 I received a letter from the Ga dept of revenue stating that we owed taxes from 2001 - 2005 in the amount if 18,000. I have sent them letter after letter, called them to no avail. We lost our car, we put our house on the market because we were strapped financially, we had it sold with a purchase agreement, went for closing and found out the state had put a lien on it, the house was eventually foreclosed on. Now, I receive a certified letter that they are garnishing my wages. I only bring home $800.00 every 2 weeks and now it's a little over $500. I don't know what to do or where to turn, they are stealing my money, my survival, my husband is in and out of the hospital and life has become a nightmare. Somebody please help us

Your posting mentions NOTHING about 2001 through 2004, yet Georgia says you owe money for that period. Can you tell us WHY Georgia says you owe this money?
