What does the computer say is wrong? Its an ODB2 and will tell you the general area of the fault.

. Check for codes; afterwards, clear codes using a code reader.
. Drop and clean the transmission pan, change the filter, and replace the fluid. Do this every 30,000 miles, as Ford recommends. I only use Amsoil or Mobil 1 Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF, which greatly improves upshifts and downshifts, in my 2000 Taurus. If you don't do this, these transmissions won't last long. ATXs are the weak link in all FWD vehicles.
