I am contimplating a move to Nevada from California. My schedule allows me the ability to commute for the last few years before I retire. My question is: What about the state income tax withholdings? Nevada has no state income tax. Will my employer continue to withhold state income taxes even though I do not live in California.

You will pay California income tax if you are present in CA to work.

Depends on your job. If you go to an office of facility to work you will need to pay CA taxes. If you work out of your home in Nevada but part of your work is to call on CA persons (like a sales person) then you will not have to pay CA taxes.
