After 11 years, my son's father has decided he wants 50% custody of our minor child who has resided with me for the entire 11 years. I have chosen to represent myself and have done tons of research and was applauded today by the judge, but I am stumped now on what to expect and what I need to do at the Pre-Trial. This court case is in Hillsborough County Florida. Any help would be GREAT!

They will want to see if you and he can reach a out of court agreement, so do you have some offer to make to settle it, more visit time or other terms to try and settle ?

Does he have an attorney, If yes,

Either hire an attorney or decide what bags to pack for the daughter for her visits.

Sorry but I assume your child is important to you . So what is your defense in why he should not get 50 percent custody.

Also is it legal or physical or both? ( there is a difference both have to be addressed)

How close does he live, will child be able to do this and stay in same school district. ** father needs to live close enough for child to be able to get to school and after school events without any problem.

Just as you are stumped now, if he has an attorney, the judge is not allowed to give you special breaks ( not suppose to anyway) so when he objects in court, do you know how to answer, If he files a motion ( and expect many esp if they know you don't have an attorney, just hoping you will mess up)
