INFO:
My home is single level on foundation.
It is about 40 years old
Has had a sunroom/laundry room added on the back
PICTURE IT:
The back of my home is L shaped with the laundry room on the short side and the kitchen on the long side. After a recent rain I found what was clearly content from the kitchen disposal on top of the ground right in the corner.
WHAT I FOUND/Layout:
I have dug out most of the dirt from the kitchen wall along the foundation of the laundry room. The Laundry room/ Sunroom is about 15 feet from the original house out. Our Mo-Dad system 'clean out' pipe is located about 18 feet from the kitchen wall and 10 feet from the line where the laundry room is.
A. I found a 2" iron pipe extending 90 degrees from the kitchen wall about 3 feet. The 2" pipe connects to
B. a 3" elbow (about 45 degree turn towards laundry).
C.The 3" elbow connects to a cement pipe that continues under the laundry room at an angle - I am not sure where it comes out or if there is another elbow under there. Somehow it has to turn to go back to the Mo-Dad system.
PROBLEM:
There is a 2" hole in the top of the cement pipe (C) just under the foundation line.
There was a lot of dirt in the pipe so I have flushed much of it out. I can see water drain through it when we drain the kitchen sink - though it does evential back up out of the hole because there is still a lot of drit in there.
I don't see anything back up out of it when the washer drains so it may tie in far enough down the line under the foundation.
The condition of the 2" iron pipe (A): It has a lot of oxidation on it but it is not leaking and it still seems solid - though I have not taken a hamer to it or anything!
SO MY QUESTION:
Is there a way to repair the cement pipe hole or
Do I need to excavate around the foundation of the laundry/sunroom and find the other end of the pipe (C) and replace the whole thing. How do you replace pipe under the foundation?
