I was issued a parking ticket by a private company last year. They claimed I had parked in the wrong colour bay and I now owed £60, although I had bought an all day ticket the blue bays are up to 4 hours stay max. I contested it in writing as requested from a phone conversation I had with them on the day of issue. On reply to the contest they claimed it had failed and I now owed £100, as I hadn't contacted them in the time allocated. Since then it has risen to £140 etc. in their letter they sent several "black and white" photos of my vehicle apparently parked in a "light blue" bay. I once again contested this stating there was insufficiant proof as the photos were black and white. I asked for proof that they were BPA registered and that the ticket isser was SMA registered etc which is required by law to issue a ticket along with colour photos. I also contested the rise in price as I had contested within the alocated time.(I have proof of my original phonecall through itemised billing). They have replied via soliciors final notice stating pay or else to be blunt threatening court action etc. what should I do?
