I am 26 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Last night at work I started feeling sick to my stomach, light headed, and I passed out. After going to hospital and sitting there for 7 hours they told me that my soduim was low in my blood... what causes this and could this be why I passed out.
Here some more background information from the day...
I ate french toast... loaded mashed potatoes with extra cheese... and a orange... around 12-1 oclock.
I went to work around 4:40 and was due to get off at 8. I made a really nasty smelling turkey chedder and bacon sandwich. Talk about GROSS smelling... So I felt sick and then I asked to go to the bathroom. I started feeling light headed, and I took a step away... hit my head once on the counter, and then once really hard on the back of my head.

Does anyone know anything other then having the low soduim that could have caused this. The Emts checked my blood suger and it was 112, and they checked my blood pressure it was a little up.

The condition of low sodium does have a name and is common to a certain degree. It has many causes, many interactions, many symptoms and I am surprised they let you get away from the hospital without explaining to you in full, especially if you are pregnant. Here is a website that will explain much better then I can about Hyponatermia. I strongly suggest you visit your obygyn soon to let her know what occurred.

www.medicinenet.com › home › hyponatremia index

You will have to enter 'hyponatremia'' in the search to access all of the information.

Oh I made sure I called him the next day and asked them to move my appointment from feb first to this Monday. I was scared out of my mind if it wasn't for the counter I could have feel on my son. Then were would I have been. The nurse I talked to when I called my doctor was like eat more protiens and watch how much suger you eat. I told her my suger was find 112 is perfect so they told me. All they told me at the ER was my blood pressure dropped because I got sick to my stomach which caused me to pass out.

Are we actually talking about low blood sugar, or low sodium? You confused me because you mentioned that the nurse told you to watch how much sugar you eat.

Talking about love blood sodium. She confused me to and kept telling me to watch my suger like my suger is what is wrong and I kept saying NO SODIUM my suger was 112. I hate feeling like I am getting blown off because I'm 20, and this is my first child.

Js, seeing as you re pregnant, I would really like you to get a check up with your obygyn, or your doctor; both conditions are not what you should be having being pregnant. Please don't think you are being blown off because you are 20, may not be so.

Find out for certain, okay, and go from there. It isn't anything that can't be corrected.
