I am going through similar situation. Our court date is for Feb this year 2011. Was wondering what outcome was on yours and if there was any legal mumbo jumbo that helped you. I have lawyer but was told that even though we had verbal agreement, that the court can make a judgement against you. My ex waited 3 1/2 years to file his paperwork. Thanks in advance

Please don't piggyback your question onto another thread; it makes it harder for everyone to find and answer your question. If you start a new thread, it's helpful - I've asked that your post be moved.
You may be going through a "similar" situation but we'd need more info in order to give you an accurate answer. Laws vary by region; what might apply in Wisconsin certainly doesn't apply in Florida or California. So for starters, where are you located? How many children is this pertaining to? How old is the child now? What did your ex file that he "waited 3 1/2 years" before doing so?
I don't know what you mean by this:

If the court feels that anyone was over- or underpaid by the other party, they can and will order a repayment.
Verbal agreements are nice at times but are also hard to prove in court - people lie and they lie even more in family court. That's why it's important to have everything in writing and submitted to the court.
